Chief Cook and a Bottle Washer
Who are you ?
I’m a leader but only as long as other choose to follow me. I’m a (former) manager who chose not to manage my teams at all. A CEO who decided not to have any more power than an intern on their first day at work. I’m an explorer on an endless discovery of how to design more humane and more effective organizations. I’m an experimenter who’s never really happy with how things are working right now.
What do you do for a living ?
I « run » Lunar Logic–a web development agency. Well, it’s a lie because I don’t really run it any more than everyone else does. I do whatever it takes to do things that need to be done but no one else is willing to take care of them.
What do you want to speak about at FlowCon ?
I want to talk about designing organizations fit for human beings.
What will make you say “waouh” at the end of the conference ?
Insightful and inspiring discussions. Being challenged. Idea cross-pollination.
What will make you think that attendees have learnt a lot during your session ?
Quality and quantity of follow-up hallway discussions are a measure how relevant and challenging the ideas are. I hope the stuff I share to be questioned, challenged, and scrutinized. That’s an environment where learning is happening (in both directions).
What is your favorite word ?
One? I can’t possibly pick one. Whatever it would be, though, a human being would be at a receiving end of it.
What is the sound, the noise that you love ?
Laugh of my son.
What is the plant, tree or animal which you would love to be reincarnated into ?
Does homo sapiens count as an animal?
What is the question you would have liked us to ask you ?
If it wasn’t the life you’re living what life would you be living instead?
I’d be a full-time sailor. I would have a completely different set of things to worry about, ideas to think through, challenges to face, lessons to learn, and stories to tell.
Speaker pitch When we talk about effective teams discussions almost always boils down to processes, methods and practices. As a matter of fact, it was the part of our story at Lunar Logic. However, on our evolution toward becoming a company with no managers we uncovered a whole another context to that dispute. Emotional safety […]
