Derik Evangelista

Software Engineer

Who are you?

I’m a software engineer currently working at Pivotal, building the On-Demand Broker SDK, a tool for developing standalone service offerings for Cloud Foundry. Previously, I spent several months delivering pipelines as a product, developing the pipeline configuration used for several teams to deliver their products. Prior to joining Pivotal, I was writing crypto algorithms in Javascript for a security company back in Brazil.

What do you do for a living?

I write a lot of YAMLs and some Golang.

What do you want to speak about at FlowCon?

Pipelines. More specifically, how you can build pipelines that work.

What will make you say “waouh” at the end of the conference?

If, by the end, I get to know new people and have some good discussions.

What will make you think that attendees have learnt a lot during your session?

If we get asked great questions and follow up discussions

What is the sound, the noise that you love?

Wood cracking in a bonfire

What is the plan, tree or animal which you would love to be reincarnated into?

A dog, so I can do the same thing over and over again and still have fun with it.
